Attention ladies!!!  Well how about losing some weight, releasing your inner goddess and becoming the confident sexy person you promised yourself to be? Yes all this is possible and more by attending a fabulous course of bellydancing. It is sooo in vogue at the moment, deemed to be the new Burlesque!!

The classes will be for beginners and will be taught by the fabulous Lana Diamond and Debra Arnott.

Lana Diamond, from Newfoundland, Canada  loves to express herself through drama and characterisation, and bellydance is a natural extension of that. She has since graduated from Memorial University of Fine Arts where she received a BA in Theatre, and has gone on to do a Masters degree in Literature with the Open University. In the past year, she has taken part in fun and fabulous workshops with Guinevere Clark in Wales, where she was introduced to Keti Sharif’s A-Z system of bellydancing. She has also attended classes with Debra Arnott in Marsden, and looks forward to team teaching with such an inspirational dancer! She has recently returned from a trip to Cairo, Egypt where she had the privilege of attending teacher training in Keti Sharif’s renowned  A-Z system, followed by  the fabulous 5 day Sphinx Festival in Giza. She looks forward to bellydancing at the Peacock Lounge with you

Debra (stage name, Ora and now Selket) Has been dancing and performing for 15 years.
She began training initially in Buckinghamshire, after graduating from university with a BA Hons in 3D Design.
After moving back home to Huddersfield she took up training with Betty Thompson in Leeds( one of the pioneers of Egyptian dance in West Yorkshire), she joined with Arabesque Dance troupe where she has performed at venues from old peoples rest homes to The Carriage Works in Leeds.
Debra has been teaching Egyptian Dance for 5 years based in Marsden where she has even formed an Egyptian Dance troupe with members of the class called 'Kismet' who perform at various charity events.
She also taught classes up to being 8 months pregnant with her second child and has researched the history of bellydance as a support  to childbirth in women.
 
Recently Debra has formed Elemental Bellydance, alongside Lana Diamond where they are planning on forming a new professional troupe and also teaching classes and workshops.
Elemental Bellydance focuses on teaching to inspire, creating confidence and having LOTS of fun.
 
Other bellydancing events are hopefully going to be held throughout the year with workshops and Haflas
